What do you use the 37 cl old fashioned glass for?
For whisky neat or on the rocks, for a negroni over one large ice block and for the old fashioned itself. The low, wide shape with its heavy base stays put when you drop ice into it and sits comfortably in the hand.
Why one large ice block instead of small cubes?
A large block has less surface relative to its volume and therefore melts more slowly. Your drink stays just as cold but dilutes less quickly, which is especially noticeable with strong, stirred cocktails.
What is the 50 cl jug meant for?
For water alongside the whisky. A few drops of water open up the aroma of a strong whisky, while a full splash flattens it. With a jug you do the dosing yourself, instead of the bar doing it for you.
Can the whisky decanter go in the dishwasher?
The glasses can go in at up to sixty degrees, but the 75 cl decanter is better washed by hand. Water sits in the narrow neck and leaves limescale marks that are hard to remove later.
