Which Kyoto glass suits a highball?
The longdrink glass of 46 centilitres. It holds a full serving of ice plus the tonic or soda without you having to top up halfway. Fill the glass with ice first and add the sparkling part last, down the side of the glass.
Why does Kyoto have a thick base?
The weighted base gives the glass weight and stability, so it does not tip over when you stir in it or drop ice into it. It is a feature from the Japanese bar culture the range is inspired by.
Are the glasses dishwasher safe?
Yes, the range is dishwasher safe. Place stemless glasses upside down in the rack so no water stays behind, and do not stack them while drying, because glasses stuck together often break when you pull them apart.
How does the champagne glass differ from a flute?
The champagne glass of 32 centilitres is wider than a classic flute. That gives the aroma more room to open up, which is pleasant with richer sparkling wines. A narrow flute holds on to the bubbles longer instead.
