Which bar mat size fits a standard bar?
For a single bartender's pouring station, a 44x24 cm bar runner or a 30x45 cm rubber mat is enough. If you work with both hands side by side, the 60x20 cm mat follows the width better.
Can a bar mat go in the dishwasher?
Most rubber mats can go in the bottom rack, as long as you avoid a high-temperature programme. Too much heat makes rubber go limp and lose its grip. A daily rinse under the tap is usually enough.
What is the difference between a bar mat and a glass mat?
A bar mat sits on your pouring station and catches spilled drinks. A glass mat is square, 33x33 cm for example, and is meant for letting freshly rinsed glasses drain upside down next to the rinser.
Can you cut a bar mat to size yourself?
Yes. The rolls of 500 by 61 cm are made for that and come in black and clear. You cut the length you need with a sharp knife along a straight edge.
