What does tempered glass mean in this range?
The surface of the glass has been put under tension, so it takes a knock better than ordinary glass. If it does break, it falls apart into blunt pieces rather than sharp shards, which is safer on a terrace.
How many pieces does Grande Sunray come in?
Every size comes in twelves. That number suits hospitality and large tables, where you would rather have a complete set in one size at once than loose glasses that differ slightly from one another.
Which glass do you choose for a gin and tonic?
The 46 cl highball glass. It is tall and narrow enough to take a full gin and tonic with plenty of ice, and the shape holds on to the carbonation longer than a low, wide tumbler does.
Can you stack these glasses inside one another?
Better not. The straight wall invites it, but two tumblers that get jammed are rarely separated without damage. Put them side by side in a crate, which also keeps the rims in better shape.
