Which Climats size should I choose for red wine?
For full-bodied reds such as nebbiolo or an older bordeaux, take the 64 cl bowl, because that gives the wine the most contact with air. For lighter reds the 50 cl is more than enough.
How full do you pour a 64 cl bowl?
Up to the widest point of the bowl and no higher, which comes down to about a fifth of its capacity. The empty space above captures the aromas and is exactly why the glass is so large.
Is lead-free crystal glass dishwasher safe?
Yes, provided you use a short glassware programme and place the glasses apart. The weak point is the transition from stem to bowl, so do not let stems touch each other or the cutlery in the basket.
Why is this series called Climats?
Climats is the Burgundian term for demarcated vineyard plots that each yield their own wine. NUDE Glass uses that name for three bowls that each give a different type of wine the right space.
