Which glass do you use for red and which for white?
The 56.3 cl bowl is the roomier one and gives red wine more air, so firm tannins come across as softer. The 51.4 cl bowl tapers slightly more and keeps the fresh aromas of white wine together better.
How much wine do you pour into these glasses?
Up to the widest point of the bowl, about a third of the capacity. That comes to fifteen to eighteen centilitres. You need the space above it to swirl and to let the aroma gather.
Can you pour sparkling wine into them as well?
You can. Both bowls have an effervescence point in the base, which gives the bubbles a fixed starting place. A roomy bowl gives champagne more aroma than a narrow flute, although the carbonation does disappear faster.
Why are there only two glasses in a set?
The series is meant for a bottle you open with the two of you. If you are setting a larger table, simply order several sets, so you never have more glasses in the cupboard than you use.
