Which glasses are in the Savage range?
A coupetini of 17 cl, a champagne coupe of 22 cl and a pony glass of 13.5 cl. All three are made of lead-free crystal glass. The coupetini is the working size for cocktails; the pony glass is meant for liqueur.
What is the difference between a coupe and a coupetini?
A coupetini is narrower and deeper and therefore keeps a cocktail cold for longer. A coupe is wider and shallower, so the drink is more visible and there is more room left for a garnish on the rim.
How do you keep a cocktail cold without ice?
By chilling the glass. Put the coupe in the freezer for a quarter of an hour, or fill it with ice and water while you shake and tip that out just before pouring. Then strain, so no ice splinters end up in it.
Can lead-free crystal glass go in the dishwasher?
Yes, on a glassware programme. The thin rim is the vulnerable part, so place the glasses apart so nothing knocks against them. Dry with a lint-free cloth and hold the glass by the foot while you do.
