Is NUDE Glass Mirage mouth-blown?
Yes, the series is mouth-blown from lead-free crystal. The wall is therefore thinner than with machine-made glass and individual glasses differ slightly from one another. That small variation is part of the product, not a fault.
Which Mirage bowl do you choose for red wine?
The 57 cl. That bowl is wider, so a full-bodied red gets more surface to take up air. Pour it about a third full, otherwise the space above the wine no longer works in your favour.
Can Mirage go in the dishwasher?
It can, but use a short programme at a low temperature and make sure the bowls do not touch. The glass is thin, so most breakage comes from contact in the basket rather than from the water itself.
Does lead-free crystal really contain no lead?
Correct. Instead of lead oxide, other minerals are used to keep the glass clear and fine enough to be delicate. The result is just as transparent as classic lead crystal, but it is dishwasher safe and does not go grey.
