Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve
The festive Johnnie Walker: smooth, honey-sweet and full of fruit, with just a hint of smoke. And the only one in the range that the brand itself also recommends drinking from the freezer.

Made for festive occasions
Gold Label Reserve is a personal creation by master blender Jim Beveridge, intended for special occasions. It is a blended Scotch at 40% ABV, with no age statement, and one of the smoothest and sweetest bottles in the range. Where Double Black seeks out smoke, Gold Label opts for fruit, vanilla and a creamy, honey-sweet character.
What makes it special is its versatility. The brand suggests four ways to drink it: neat, with ice, with a little water and from the freezer. The last is unusual for whisky, but works well here: the cold makes Gold Label viscous and smooth, leaving mainly the honey notes. A whisky for the festive season, and a popular gift.
In brief
Honey, apricot and a hint of smoke
Fruit and vanilla
Ripe fruit and vanilla take the lead, with apricot and a sweet, oaky warmth underneath.
Smooth and honey-sweet
Smooth and creamy, with honey and apricot, and spicy, sweet oak notes that add depth.
Smooth with subtle smoke
A rounded finish with subtle smokiness, much lighter than Double Black.
Flavor profile of Gold Label Reserve at room temperature. From the freezer, it is sweeter and smoother, with less oak.
Four temperatures, one bottle
Gold Label Reserve can be enjoyed in more ways than most whiskies. These three are worth trying.
Ice-cold from the freezer
Place the bottle in the freezer for a few hours and pour 30 ml into a small, chilled glass. The whisky becomes thick and silky smooth - ideal as an aperitif or with dessert.
Glass: small glass →Neat with a little water
30 ml at room temperature in a tasting glass, with a few drops of water. The spicy oak notes and subtle smoke now come through more clearly.
Tasting glasses →With ice
40 ml over a large ice cube in a tumbler. As the ice melts, the flavor shifts from honey to fresh fruit.
Tumblers →Smooth cocktails with Gold Label
The brand also considers Gold Label suitable for classic Scotch cocktails. Choose recipes where honey and fruit can shine.

Godfather
Scotch with amaretto over ice. The honey notes of Gold Label and the almond combine into a smooth, rounded whole.
Hot Toddy
Whisky with hot water, honey, lemon, and cloves. With its honey notes, Gold Label is a perfect fit for this recipe.
Whisky Sour
Whisky, lemon, sugar syrup, and egg white. With Gold Label, you can use a little less syrup.
