Glen Talloch Gold 12 Years
The Glen Talloch you drink neat. Twelve years in oak and more malt in the blend: full, mature and harmonious, with malt, wood, vanilla and dried fruit and a long finish.

What twelve years and extra malt do
Glen Talloch Gold 12 Years is a blended Scotch whisky made by blending grain whisky with malt whiskies from the Highlands, the Lowlands and Speyside. All the whisky in the blend has spent at least twelve years in oak casks. Like the standard blend, it is marketed in the Netherlands by Boomsma from Leeuwarden.
Two things make it different from regular Glen Talloch. The malt content is forty percent instead of thirty, and the whiskies are matured much longer: twelve years compared with at least five for the malts in the standard blend. The result is a mature, full whisky with more wood, vanilla and dried fruit and a distinctly longer finish. The alcohol percentage remains the same: 40%.
In brief
Malt, oak, vanilla and dried fruit
Malt & vanilla
Warm malt with vanilla, dried fruit and a distinct note of oak. More mature and deeper than the standard blend.
Full and harmonious
Full and rounded on the palate. Malt and wood are beautifully balanced, with soft vanilla sweetness and dried fruit running through it.
Long
A long finish in which wood and vanilla linger. This is where you taste the biggest difference from regular Glen Talloch.

How to taste Gold 12 Years
This bottle is made to be enjoyed neat. Take your time; the finish is the best part.
Neat in a tasting glass
Pour 3 to 4 cl into a tulip-shaped tasting glass at room temperature. Smell it first from a little distance, then take a small sip and hold it in your mouth for a moment before swallowing.
Glass: tasting glass →With a drop of water
Pour 4 cl into a tumbler and add a few drops of cool water with a teaspoon. The water opens up the nose and takes the edge off the 40% ABV without diluting the flavor.
Tumblers →As a luxury highball
40 ml Gold 12 Years in a tall glass filled with ice, topped with 120 ml cold sparkling water and a thin strip of lemon peel. Thanks to the extra aging, the whisky retains its character even with the fizz.
Highball recipe →Classics worthy of a more mature Scotch
In cocktails where the whisky itself takes center stage, you can best taste the twelve years of aging.

Old Fashioned
Whisky, a sugar cube, and bitters, stirred over a large ice cube. Wood and vanilla come through beautifully.
Manhattan
With Scotch, it is called a Rob Roy: whisky, sweet vermouth, and bitters, stirred and served in a coupe.
Penicillin
Scotch with lemon, honey, and ginger. A modern classic that calls for a full-bodied blend.
Highball
Whisky and ice-cold sparkling water in a tall glass. Simple, refreshing, and great with food.More Glen Talloch flavors
