Bachelorette Party
cocktails

A bachelorette party is a group of eight to fifteen people, a cottage or venue, and an evening that always runs late. That calls for cocktails you make in batches, not by the glass. Start here with Frosé: frozen rosé with strawberry, yielding six glasses from one blender. Then learn how much you need, how to keep shots in check, and which eight cocktails are a hit at a bachelorette party.

Frosé
six glasses from one blender

Ingredients
1 person
12 cldry rosé
5strawberries
2 clsugar syrup
1.5 clfresh lemon juice
Making Frosé: step by step
1

Pour the rosé into an ice cube tray and place it in the freezer for at least six hours. The alcohol keeps it from becoming rock-hard, so it stays slightly soft.

2

Put the frozen rosé, four hulled strawberries, the sugar syrup, and the lemon juice in the blender.

3

Blend for thirty seconds on the highest setting until you have a smooth slush. If it’s too thin, place the blender jar in the freezer for twenty minutes and blend for another five seconds.

4

Pour into a chilled coupe and place the final strawberry, slit, on the rim.

A group, one blender

At a bachelorette party, no one wants to spend the whole evening in the kitchen, including the organizer. So work in rounds. A 1.5-liter blender makes six glasses of Frosé at once from a 75-cl bottle of rosé, so with four bottles in the freezer you can serve a group of twelve twice. For the rest of the evening, choose cocktails that can be made in a pitcher, such as a Sex on the Beach: vodka, peach liqueur and juices mixed in advance and poured over ice. Allow for two glasses per person in the first hour and one per hour thereafter, and put a pitcher of water on the table. If there is an activity scheduled during the day, start with an alcohol-free round and save the blender for the evening. Anyone who is pregnant or does not drink gets their own recipe in the same glass.

The right glass

Serve Frosé in a coupe. The wide, shallow bowl shows off the pink slush, while the stem keeps your hand from warming the ice. Choose a coupe holding 22 to 26 cl, so a full serving fits without spilling over the rim. If the group is celebrating in a holiday home, bring two sets of six and rinse them between rounds. For cocktails from the pitcher, use highball glasses. View our coupes.

Good to know

Make frosé for a group

For each 75 cl bottle of rosé, you need 24 strawberries plus six for garnish, 12 cl sugar syrup, and 9 cl lemon juice; this makes six glasses. Choose a dry rosé: a sweet rosé becomes sticky after freezing. Freeze the wine the night before in ice cube trays, because small cubes blend more easily than a whole block. Frozen strawberries also work and make the slush thicker. Blend one bottle at a time and pour immediately. Taste before pouring: sweetness is less noticeable when cold, so something that seems sweet at room temperature will be just right when frozen.

Which cocktails are suitable for a bachelorette party

Cocktails for a bachelorette party should be easy to make in groups of four to six and look good in photos. Pink and red work well: shake a Cosmopolitan in two batches of three, and make a Strawberry Daiquiri in the blender, just like Frosé. The Sex on the Beach is easiest for a group because you can mix it ahead of time in a pitcher. Choose two and keep a non-alcoholic option on hand. Shots at a bachelorette party

Shots are part of many groups’ celebrations, but they also determine how the evening ends. Keep them small, measure them with a jigger, and don’t pour freehand. A Kamikaze shot is equal parts vodka, triple sec, and lime juice. Mix it in a bottle on the day itself and refrigerate it; then you can pour a round of twelve in a minute. Plan one or two rounds at set times, for example when giving the gift and just before heading into town. Find more recipes under shots.

Alcohol-free for those who don’t drink

At almost every bachelorette party, there is someone who does not drink, sometimes the bride or groom themselves. Give that person the same cocktail in the same glass, so it does not stand out. Frosé also works with non-alcoholic rosé: it freezes more solidly, so let the cubes thaw for ten minutes and blend them with a splash of chilled non-alcoholic rosé. Make a Virgin Sex on the Beach with the same juices as the original, so the color matches. Find more alcohol-free recipes among the mocktails.

Frequently asked questions

Which cocktails are suitable for a bachelorette party?

Cocktails you make in batches: Frosé from the blender, a Sex on the Beach from the pitcher, or a Cosmopolitan in two batches of three shakes. Choose two, prepare a non-alcoholic version and keep the shots small. Pink and red photograph well.

How do you make Frosé?

Freeze 12 cl of dry rosé for at least six hours in an ice cube tray. Blend the cubes with four strawberries, 2 cl simple syrup and 1.5 cl lemon juice until smooth, then pour into a chilled coupe. If it is too thin, place it in the freezer for twenty minutes and blend briefly again.

How much rosé do you need for Frosé?

One 75 cl bottle makes six glasses. For a group of twelve having two rounds, freeze four bottles. Choose a dry rosé; it does not need to be expensive, because after freezing and blending, you will barely notice the subtle differences between bottles.

Can you make Frosé in advance?

Yes, up to a day in advance. Blend the Frosé, put it in a sealed container and place it in the freezer; the alcohol keeps it from freezing completely. Blend for another five seconds just before serving or loosen it with a fork.
