Peachtree
The peach liqueur that made Sex on the Beach famous worldwide in the 1980s. Everything about the taste, ABV, cocktails and the glass it belongs in.

The Schiedam liqueur that went around the world
Peachtree was launched in 1984 by De Kuyper in Schiedam, in response to demand for a liqueur with a true peach flavor. The brand caught on worldwide and quickly became one of the most successful liqueur launches ever: within a few years, the bottle was behind virtually every bar in America and Europe. The name refers to Peachtree Street in Atlanta.
The liqueur is fresh and sweet with the taste of ripe peaches and contains 20% alcohol, low enough to mix generously. Peachtree is the base of the Sex on the Beach and Woo Woo, two cocktails that became popular during the same period. There is now also a ready-to-drink Peachtree Spritz in a 4.5% can.
In brief
Peachtree and other peach liqueurs
Peachtree is the best-known, but not the only peach liqueur. These are the bottles you're most likely to come across.

Peachtree
The original from De Kuyper: fresh and sweet, with the taste of ripe peaches. The standard bottle for a Sex on the Beach.

Peachtree Spritz
Ready-to-drink spritz made with Peachtree, prosecco and sparkling water. Lightly sparkling and summery; simply pour chilled over ice.

Bols Peach
Lucas Bols' peach liqueur: fresh and lively with sun-ripened peach. Slightly lighter than Peachtree and widely used behind the bar.

Pallini Peachello
Italian liqueur made from ripe white peaches. Fuller and more refined, and at 26% also stronger. Drink chilled neat or in a spritz.
Peachtree for classic cocktails; Peachello for drinking neat.
Ripe peach, refreshingly sweet and immediately recognizable
Fresh peach
Full, ripe peach with a slight floral note. Immediately recognizable and not artificially sweet on the nose.
Sweet and juicy
Juicy and sweet, with peach and a hint of apricot. You can barely taste the 20% alcohol, making it easy to mix.
Short and fresh
A short, fresh finish with fruit and a slight tartness. That keeps it standing out in a highball.
Peachtree's flavor profile. Bols Peach is slightly lighter and fresher; Pallini Peachello is fuller and stronger, at 26%.
Three ways to drink Peachtree
Peachtree is made for mixing. With juice or sparkling water, you have a highball ready in thirty seconds; in a shaker, it becomes a classic.
As Sex on the Beach
40 ml vodka, 20 ml Peachtree, 60 ml cranberry juice, and 60 ml orange juice over plenty of ice in a highball glass. Stir, don't shake, and garnish with an orange wedge.

40 ml Peachtree with 150 ml sparkling water over plenty of ice and a lime wedge. Light, refreshing, and low in alcohol; the brand itself calls this the Fizzy Peachtree.
Glass: highball glass →As a peach spritz
50 ml Peachtree, 75 ml prosecco, and a splash of sparkling water in a large wine glass filled with ice, with a slice of peach. Or take a can of Peachtree Spritz and pour it over ice.
