Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition
Whiskey and beer in one glass, but subtly. Familiar Jameson is finished in barrels that previously held Irish stout, picking up cacao, coffee, butterscotch, and a touch of hops. Perfect for a cold evening or in an Irish coffee.

An exchange between distiller and brewer
Caskmates began with an exchange in Cork: a brewery matured its stout in Jameson barrels and then sent those barrels back to Midleton. There, the regular triple-distilled Jameson is given an additional maturation in them. The beer has left a dark, smooth flavor in the wood, which the whiskey takes on.
So you don't taste beer, but you do taste its traces: cacao, coffee and butterscotch, a touch of hops, with marzipan and oak underneath. The base remains the Jameson blend of pot still whiskey and grain whiskey, at 40%. While the IPA Edition is fresh and hoppy, the Stout Edition is dark and rounded: a whiskey for after dinner, by the fireside, or alongside a glass of stout.
In brief
Dark, rounded, and lightly sweet
Coffee and cacao
Roasted coffee and cacao overlay the familiar smooth Jameson, with a touch of marzipan.
Butterscotch
Smooth and full-bodied, with butterscotch and chocolate. The stout barrels add body without making the whiskey heavy.
Oak and cacao
A medium-length finish with oak, a final hint of dark cacao, and a touch of hops from the beer.
Tasting profile of Caskmates Stout Edition neat. In hot coffee, the cacao and butterscotch stand out even more.
Three ways to serve Caskmates Stout
This whiskey is made for the darker side of the year: neat, in coffee, or simply alongside a beer.
Neat, alongside a stout
Pour 30 ml of Caskmates Stout into a tumbler and place a glass of stout beside it. Take alternating sips: the coffee and cocoa in both enhance each other.
Tumblers →Stout Irish coffee
40 ml Caskmates Stout and 2 teaspoons of brown sugar in 120 ml of hot coffee, topped with lightly whipped cream. The stout barrels make it more chocolatey than the original.

30 ml in a tasting glass with a few drops of cool water. This opens up the marzipan and butterscotch and takes the final edge off the alcohol.
Tasting glasses →Cocktails for cold evenings
The coffee and cocoa from the stout barrels are a perfect match for hot drinks and sweet, nutty cocktails.

Irish coffee
Hot coffee, whiskey, brown sugar, and cream. With Caskmates Stout, extra dark and chocolatey.
Godfather
Whiskey and amaretto over ice. The marzipan in the whiskey pairs beautifully with the almond.
