Irish whiskey and fresh cream in one bottle
Baileys is an Irish cream liqueur that was created in Dublin in 1974 as the first 'Irish cream'. Its base is Irish whiskey, fresh cream from Irish dairy cows, cocoa and vanilla. The secret lies in the emulsion: the cream is blended with the alcohol in such a way that it does not curdle and can be stored without refrigeration.
Baileys is the best-selling liqueur in the world and is part of Diageo. In addition to the Original, there are flavors such as Salted Caramel, Espresso Crème, Strawberries & Cream and Belgian Chocolate, as well as seasonal editions around the holidays. Most variants contain 17% alcohol.
In brief
What types of Baileys are there?

Baileys Original
The original: Irish whiskey, cream, cocoa and vanilla. Creamy, sweet and smooth, best served ice-cold.

Baileys Salted Caramel
The Original with salted caramel. Sweet and salty at the same time, the most popular flavor variant.

Baileys Espresso Crème
Irish cream with the flavor of espresso. An Espresso Martini and a Baileys in one bottle.

Baileys Strawberries & Cream
Pink Baileys with strawberry. Summery, fruity and creamy, delicious with prosecco or over vanilla ice cream.

Baileys Belgian Chocolate
With real Belgian chocolate: thicker, richer and even more of a dessert than the Original.

Baileys 1 liter
The large bottle of Original for the holidays or home bar. More affordable per glass.
Start with the Original: it works in coffee, on the rocks, and in cocktails.
Creamy, sweet, and smooth with whiskey
Vanilla & milk chocolate
Sweet cream, vanilla, and cocoa, with the Irish whiskey barely perceptible in the background.
Full-bodied and velvety smooth
Thick and creamy, like a sweet milkshake with a warm hint of whiskey and chocolate.
Smooth and sweet
A short, smooth finish of cream and cocoa. You can barely taste the 17% alcohol.
Flavor profile of Baileys Original. Salted Caramel is sweeter, while Espresso Crème is slightly more bitter from the coffee.
Three ways to drink Baileys
Baileys tastes best chilled. Straight from the fridge over ice, in coffee, or in a creamy cocktail.
On the rocks
Pour 50 ml of chilled Baileys into a tumbler filled with plenty of ice. Nothing more is needed. This is how the Irish drink it and how you can best taste the flavor.
Glass: tumbler →Baileys coffee
A splash of Baileys (30 ml) in a cup of hot coffee, optionally topped with whipped cream. Or ice-cold: pour Baileys over ice and add a shot of espresso.
