Dropshot Double Black
For those who find regular Dropshot too sweet. Double Black is saltier, more intense and, at 24%, also slightly stronger: salty licorice and salmiak in a black shot. Ice-cold from the freezer, down in one go.
Dropshot, but salty
Dropshot was developed in 1996 by De Kuyper in Schiedam and grew into one of the best-known shots in the Netherlands. Regular Dropshot mainly tastes of sweet licorice, with just a salty note at the end. Double Black turns that around: here, salty licorice takes center stage, complemented by salmiak.
The alcohol percentage is different too. While the original contains 20%, Double Black is 24%. That makes it stronger, but still considerably milder than a herbal bitter. It is a shot for true licorice lovers: people who head straight for the salty licorice and salmiak balls in the candy store.

How to serve Double Black
Double Black is made to be drunk as a shot. Cold is the key word.
Ice-cold as a shot
Keep the bottle in the freezer and pour 20 ml into a shot glass that is cold as well. The alcohol keeps it from freezing, but makes it thick and smooth. Drink in one go.
