What is Kleiner Klopfer?

Tap, twist, drink

Kleiner Klopfer is a German brand of mini liqueurs in 2 cl bottles, sold in packs of 25 with different flavors mixed together. The brand has existed since 1997, comes from Marussia Beverages Germany, and now has 27 flavors. The name (“little knocker”) refers to the ritual: you first tap the bottle on the table or bar, twist off the cap, and drink it in one go.

With 15 to 17% alcohol, the shots are mild and sweet, just right for sharing at a party. Each box is a mix of five flavors, from strawberry and cherry to sour apple and energy. In the Netherlands, the Fun Mix and Crazy Mix are the best known; the Sour Mix and Top Speed are for those who prefer it sour or with an energy flavor.

What percentage of alcohol is in Kleiner Klopfer?
It varies by box: the Fun Mix has 17%, the Crazy Mix 16%, and the Sour Mix and Top Speed 15%. A 2 cl bottle therefore contains about 0.3 cl of pure alcohol, one-third of a standard drink.
Why do you knock a Kleiner Klopfer on the table?
It is the ritual the brand is named after: knock, spin, drink. The knocking serves no purpose other than adding to the fun; some people say it wakes up the flavor. With Flügel, you put the cap on your nose; with Kleiner Klopfer, you knock it.
What flavors are in the Fun Mix?
Strawberry, cherry, cream, fig, and plum, five bottles of each. The Crazy Mix contains green apple, blueberry, Top Speed (energy drink), orange, and jostaberry. The Sour Mix has Tropical Blue, mango, blackcurrant, apple, and cherry.
What is the difference between Kleiner Klopfer and Kleiner Feigling?
They are two German brands from different producers. Kleiner Feigling (by Behn) comes in one flavor: 20% fig vodka in 2 cl bottles. Kleiner Klopfer is a mix of five sweet liqueur flavors per box, slightly milder (15-17%). Both are best served ice-cold and drunk in one go.
Is Kleiner Klopfer the same as Flügel?
No. Flügel is a Dutch vodka shot with an energy drink flavor (10%), always the same flavor. Kleiner Klopfer is German, comes in five flavors per box, and is stronger (15-17%). If you're looking for Flügel's energy drink flavor, choose Top Speed.
How long do the bottles last?
Unopened, they last for years; there is a date on the box. Store them somewhere cool and dark. Once opened, drink the bottle immediately; it is exactly one shot.
