Chivas Regal XV
The Chivas with a nod to cognac. Fifteen years old and partially finished in Grande Champagne cognac casks, making it sweeter and fuller than the 12: raisins, cinnamon and a velvety finish.

Scotch with a French finish
XV is the Roman numeral for fifteen: the youngest whisky in this blend has spent at least fifteen years in casks. What truly sets it apart from the other Chivas Regals is the casks. Part of the blend is finished in cognac casks from Grande Champagne, France's most renowned cognac region. The wood gives the whisky a rich, sweet character with notes of raisins and cinnamon.
The foundation remains unmistakably Chivas: malt and grain whiskies from Speyside, with Strathisla at its heart, and, like all Chivas Regals, 40% alcohol. Compared with the 12 Years, the difference is immediately noticeable. XV is rounder, sweeter and fuller, making it a bottle best enjoyed neat or with one ice cube.
In brief
Raisins, cinnamon and a gentle sweetness
Dried fruit
Raisins and ripe fruit take center stage, with a warm sweetness reminiscent of the cognac casks.
Full and rich
Sweet and fruity, with raisins and cinnamon. Fuller in flavor than the 12 Years and smooth in texture.
Velvety and spicy
A silky-smooth finish in which the cinnamon continues to glow gently. No smoke.
Flavor profile of Chivas Regal XV neat at room temperature. With an ice cube, it becomes slightly drier and fresher.
How to drink Chivas Regal XV
XV is made for sipping. Taste it neat first, then discover what a drop of water or a large ice cube does.
Neat in a tasting glass
Pour 30 ml at room temperature into a tulip-shaped glass. Let it stand for a minute, smell it first, then take small sips. This brings out the raisins and cinnamon best.
Tasting glasses →With one large ice cube
Pour 40 ml over one large, clear ice cube in a heavy tumbler. The ice cools it without diluting it quickly and makes the sweetness more structured.
Tumblers →XV Old Fashioned
Briefly stir 50 ml XV, 5 ml sugar syrup, and 2 dashes of bitters with ice, then strain over an ice cube. Squeeze an orange zest over it. Thanks to the cognac casks, you need hardly any sugar.

If you mix with the XV, choose short, strong cocktails in which the whisky remains the star.

Old Fashioned
Whisky, sugar, and bitters. The raisins and cinnamon in the XV give it a warm, rounded character.
Sazerac
Originally made with cognac, later with whisky. A whisky matured in cognac casks sits right between the two.
Godfather
Scotch and amaretto over ice. The sweet almond complements the dried fruit of the XV.
Hot Toddy
Whisky with hot water, honey, and lemon. The cinnamon in the XV makes it extra spicy.More Chivas Regal flavors
