Esbjærg Copper
The copper version of Esbjærg: wheat vodka from Leeuwarden, traditionally distilled in a copper pot still. Silky smooth and pure, with a grain-like bite. The bottle for those who also want to drink vodka neat.

The same wheat, a different still
Like regular Esbjærg, Esbjærg Copper comes from Boomsma Distillery in Leeuwarden. The base is also the same: wheat grain spirit filtered through activated carbon. The difference lies in the distillation. Copper is traditionally distilled in a copper pot still instead of by the usual method.
During distillation, copper binds sulfur compounds, resulting in a rounder, cleaner spirit. The result is a silky-smooth, pure character with a grain-like bite: a little more distinctive flavor than the standard bottle, without losing the neutrality you expect from vodka. The alcohol content remains 40%.
In brief
Silky smooth, with a grain-like bite
Clean grain
A clean, light aroma with a distinct grain note. No sharp alcohol sting.
Silky smooth
Smooth and silky on the palate, lightly sweet from the wheat. This is where you notice the copper still.
Grain-like bite
A short, dry finish with a grain-like bite that gives the vodka a little more character than regular Esbjærg.
Flavor profile of Esbjærg Copper neat and chilled. In a cocktail, its soft texture is what stands out most.
Neat or mixed: Esbjærg Copper three ways
Copper is made to be enjoyed neat too, but works just as well in a cocktail where the vodka is not hidden.
Neat and chilled
Put the bottle in the freezer for a few hours and pour 3 cl into a small, chilled glass. Taste it neat first: that way you notice the difference in smoothness compared with ordinary vodka.
Small glasses →Vodka Lime
50 ml Esbjærg Copper with 15 ml lime juice and 10 ml sugar syrup over ice in a highball glass, topped with 100 ml sparkling water. Fresh, dry and simple.
Highball glasses →With tonic
40 ml Esbjærg Copper with 150 ml tonic in a balloon glass filled with ice and a lime wedge. The grain-like bite holds its own nicely alongside the bitterness of the tonic.
Balloon glasses →Cocktails that let Copper stand out
Choose recipes with few ingredients, so the soft texture of the copper distillation remains noticeable.
