De Kuyper Vieux
Dutch vieux from Schiedam, made with real French brandy. Full and round at 35%: neat in a small glass, with cola over ice or as a shot with drinks.

Vieux with a French heart
Vieux is the Dutch counterpart to brandy: a smooth, amber-coloured drink that used to be found in every café. De Kuyper Vieux is made with real French brandy, giving it a distinctive character and a natural, full flavour.
At 35%, it is De Kuyper's strongest bottle and the opposite of the sweet fruit liqueurs from the same distillery. It comes in a one-litre bottle because vieux is a drink for drinks and celebrations. De Kuyper itself describes it as a drink for mixing or taking as a shot; drinking it neat at room temperature is also perfectly fine.
In brief
Full, round and warm
Caramel and grape
A warm aroma of caramel and dried fruit, with the soft grape note of the brandy.
Full and smooth
Round and slightly sweet, with caramel and a little wood. Smooth enough to drink neat.
Warm and medium-length
A warm finish in which the 35% briefly makes itself felt, followed by sweet wood.
Tasting profile of De Kuyper Vieux neat at room temperature. With cola, the caramel stands out most.
Three ways to drink vieux
Vieux is a drink for sipping: neat, as a shot or long with cola. There is a different glass for every way of drinking it.
Neat at room temperature
4 cl in a small cognac glass or shot glass, without ice. Warming the glass briefly in your hand releases the caramel and brandy aromas more fully.
Cognac glasses →Vieux and cola
50 ml vieux with 150 ml cola in a tumbler or highball glass filled with ice. The classic Dutch bar drink, and the reason the bottle is one litre.
Tumblers →As a shot
3 cl vieux in a shot glass, at room temperature or lightly chilled. This is how De Kuyper recommends it, alongside mixing it into drinks.
Shot glasses →Brandy cocktails with vieux
Vieux isn't cognac, but its French brandy makes it suitable for brandy classics. Expect a softer, sweeter version.

Kopstoot
A shot of spirits with a beer on the side. Warmer and sweeter with vieux instead of genever.
Sidecar
Brandy, triple sec and lemon. With vieux and De Kuyper Triple Sec, a Schiedam version.
Brandy Alexander
Brandy, crème de cacao and cream with nutmeg. A cocktail for dessert.
Hot Toddy
A drink with hot water, honey and lemon. Smooth and warming with vieux.More De Kuyper flavours
