Captain Morgan Dark Rum
Not spiced rum, but genuine dark rum made from Jamaican sugar cane and aged for seven years in oak. Full of flavor yet mild: the rum for tiki cocktails, a Dark 'n Stormy, or a glass over ice.

Dark rum without spices
While most Captain Morgan bottles are spiced, Dark Rum is simply rum. It is made from Jamaican sugar cane and aged for seven years in oak barrels. This long aging gives it its deep, dark color and a flavor that is distinctive and full-bodied, yet remains mild.
Because no vanilla or spices have been added, Dark Rum tastes drier and woodier than Spiced Gold and Black Spiced. That makes it the best Captain Morgan for classic rum cocktails where the recipe calls for dark rum and the other ingredients already provide sweetness and fruitiness.
In brief
Full-bodied, woody and mild
Oak and caramel
A warm aroma of oak and caramel, without the vanilla and cinnamon of the spiced varieties.
Full-bodied yet mild
Distinctive and full-bodied, with caramel and oak. Its long aging makes the alcohol smooth and rounded.
Medium-long and dry
A dry finish with oak. That is why it does not disappear in a cocktail with lots of juice.

Three ways to drink Dark Rum
Dark Rum is versatile: over ice with cola or ginger ale, as the base for tiki classics, or simply neat to taste the oak.
Tasting over ice
30 ml Dark Rum in a tumbler with one ice cube. Smell it first, then take a small sip: you can taste how the oak has rounded out the rum.
Tumblers →With ginger ale and lime
50 ml Dark Rum with 150 ml ginger ale and a lime wedge in a long drink glass filled with ice. Softer than with ginger beer and a beautiful match for the oak.
Long drink glasses →Like Jungle Bird
45 ml Dark Rum, 20 ml Campari, 45 ml pineapple juice, 15 ml lime juice and 15 ml simple syrup, shaken and poured over ice. Bitter, fruity and deep.
